recap

April 13, 2003 &bull uncategorized

It’s been a while since I’ve had a chance to write so I’m going to provide a quick recap to get us all caught up.

We moved into our new place on March 7 and are loving life as homeowners. We are learning a lot of new things. Like how to put out a fire in your oven when forget to pull out the manuals and they burst into flames the first time you use it. Or, how to bait a mouse trap so you don’t set it off and have peanutbutter fly all over your face. Seriously, though, it’s been awesome. We are looking forward to getting our backyard done so we can hang out and enjoy the San Diego evenings.

Since we last spoke, our country invaded Iraq and is currently waging war against the rag-tag Hussein regime. If you’ve done any reading on this website over the last 6 months you probably know that I’m against any type of war, especially the ones where people get killed. I’m sure I’ll be writing about this topic in the months to come, but because I don’t have the energy for it at this moment, I’m going to refrain from any further comment.

Speaking of war, Heidi and I are currently waging one against a small pocket of rebel mice in our garage. To date there have been four casualties — all civilians. Unfortunately our weapons aren’t sophisticated enough to target only soldiers. I have a hunch that the regime leaders are using their women and children as rodent shields, but have no evidence to back this up.

We dumped our Jeep Liberty today and bought a 2003 Toyota Matrix. I now know how the Jeep product development folks decided on the name “Liberty.” You see, when you trade it in for something smaller (and smarter) you feel truly “liberated.” (No, owning the Jeep wasn’t THAT bad, but I am happy to be in something that makes twice the gas mileage.) We actually had a really great buying experience and are very happy (thus far) with Toyota Carlsbad.

That’s it for now. I know this is a pretty lame “entry,” but I at least wanted to let my readers know I was still around.
