tour de poway

October 16, 2004 &bull cycling

Heidi and I rode in the Tour de Poway on October 10th. There were a few different classes of rides, but we chose the longest one, which was 62 miles (aka a metric century).

This was our first organized race/fun ride since we started getting hardcore about biking a few months ago. I’ve never seen so many bikes in one place! It was a pretty awesome feeling at the start, riding in a pack with hundreds of other cyclist (I saw rider numbers in the 1200s so I’m assuming there was at least that many registered riders).

Heidi finished the race in a stellar 4 hours and 20 minutes. I finished it in about 3 hours and 50 minutes. We both had a great time and were a little surprised at how well we were feeling afterwards since this was our longest ride.

I’m so into cycling right now it’s not even funny.
