site mod

I’m not sure if anyone noticed, but mps75.org has been having some technical difficulties over the last few weeks. Something happened on my service provider’s web server that hosed my custom XML functionality. I guess this is one of the problems with hosting your site on someone else’s box. You lose control over changes and have limited access to install/modify software, etc. While this has been a bit of a pain, it’s not the end of the world. In fact, it’s forcing me to rethink the purpose of my blog and do some experimenting.

My service provider has “built-in” functionality for WordPress, which I’m trying out. I hate to roll out something without being able to find the right design and functionality, but I’m in a bit of a time-crunch at the moment. We’re leaving for vacation in a couple days and I wanted to get something up so I could possibly provide some posts along the way. One of the nice advantages of blogging software, such as WordPress is the ability to add posts via the web. In the past it’s been a bit of a chore for me to create entries. I’m hoping that excuse will vanish now that I’m able to post much more easily.Last, but not least, I’m going to do my best to get my previous content rolled into the new format, but that’s probably going to take some time.
