the spoils of television

It’s been a month since my last update and I’m blaming it on the introduction of television into our household. (We’re a little over a month into our three month free trial of AT&T U-Verse. We upgraded our Internet connection to their fiber solution and the sales guy strong-armed Heidi into enabling the TV service. I guess he thought 300+ channels would corrupt the incorruptible. Pfffft.) Actually, I don’t think TV has anything to do with my lack of blogging. It’s just I’ve been busy with some other stuff including, but not limited to:

To be fair, though, we have been spending a fair amount of time in front of the boob tube, watching the Tour on Versus. And the latest in home improvement on HGTV. And how to flip a home for big bucks on TLC. And the overly-ambitious, overly-creative filmmakers on Current TV, who make me feel like a complete failure. (Damn you Al Gore.) And some of the lamest movies made in the past three years on HBO. And, of course, our favorite tattoo artists in Miami, again on TLC.
So while I think we both have enjoyed the dose of “reality” the little white cable has brought into our lives, I think we’ll be happy to see this house guest leave town.
