Heidi and I finally got a chance to see The National on 09/27/2007. (We bought tickets to the show they were supposed to play in June, but it got moved to
September.) It was the first show I’d ever seen at The Casbah and it proved to be a pretty good venue. It was small and loud — what more can you ask for, right? As for the show, it was awesome. I love it when you’re totally into a band, know nearly all of their songs, and when you see them live they play every song you want to hear. And they completely kill each one. It was just like that. Heidi kept saying she thought the lead singer was wasted and I’ll have to admit, he did look a little drunk at times. But, as I mentioned above, he rocked the Casbah, so to speak, so who I am to complain?
