yikes!

Has it been that long? I guess so. Here’s a 30-second update on what’s new.

  1. We bought a Vespa (250 GTS) one day after we passed our permit tests. I’ve been commuting to work on it when I’m not riding my bike. 80+ MPG, which has been nice. Plus, it’s a lot of fun to ride. And the chicks! Anyway, check out the Flickr links on the left for some eye candy. Definitely much more about this in the near future.
  2. On a related note, we’re trying to sell our 2004 VW Jetta and get down to one car. We’ve had quite a few inquiries/test drivers, but haven’t been able to seal the deal. If we do, I’m going to try to talk Heidi into a motorcycle purchase so I can go on some trips with my dad. (And possibly Heidi, if I can talk her into that, too.)
  3. I’m training for an Olympic distance triathlon in Mission Viejo. I’m starting to freak out a bit because I don’t feel like I’ve been training hard enough.
  4. We’re signed up for the Carlsbad full marathon in January 2009 and the SoCal Half Ironman in April 2009. Lots of hard (but fun?) training ahead.
  5. I’ve been working like crazy. There’s been a huge push to get the environment up to snuff and it seems I’ve been working around the clock (+ weekends) for the last couple of months.
  6. I finally broke my social networking boycott and signed up on Facebook.

That’s all I can think of for now. Hopefully it won’t be two months before the next update.
